Open Aerial Practice

1 hr··$25

Knowledge of apparatus required. This is extra studio time to practice. There will be no instruction of new material during this time. I will be available to answer basic questions and provide spotting.

Instructor approval may be required if you are new to the studio or new to me. Please be prepared to have 1 or 2 videos of yourself performing basic skills to assess safety risks (examples: mounting a lyra, foot locks on silks, standing on a sling, getting into backstar, etc.)

Intro to Aerial - KIDS (age 10 - 14)

1 hr··$30

No experience needed. PARENT/GUARDIAN PERMISSION REQUIRED. Silks, sling, & lyra will all be hung so that you can see and feel the differences between all the apparatuses. We will rotate through all 3 apparatuses so that you can try them all and if you're enjoying one more than the rest you're free to stick with that one during the rest of class! This is the perfect opportunity to ask questions, see demos, and get a taste of what these 3 main apparatuses have to offer. This is a great way to test the waters if you're undecided about what class is best for you. If you find your jam and want to sign up for additional classes, I can help guide you towards any of our awesome coaches at the studio who might fit your learning style and schedule!

Slyra Workshop

1 hr··$35

Limited offering. Sling + lyra rigged to the same point. This dual apparatus will test your balance as we create familiar shapes in a new way. Some sling experience required. Please make sure to check IG/FB posting for level requirements or contact me directly if you have questions. Most slyra workshops will be end-beginner to intermediate level of difficulty due to the difficulty of working with multiple apparatuses at once.

I'm a queer raver who started my aerial journey in 2018. After a 2-year-long injury, I’ve embraced the mantra: Progress over Perfection. Learning is not linear, and setbacks are part of the process. I believe in showing up, celebrating the messy moments, and finding joy in the journey. I love laughing at my flops and hope to help you embrace your own.

I encourage cross-training and exploring different classes, as there's so much to learn from all the different teachers and apparatuses. My goal is to create a safe, supportive environment where students feel comfortable and motivated to grow. If there’s something I don’t know, I’ll work to find the answer or connect you with someone who can help, so that we can keep growing together.

I absolutely LOVED Sam’s Slyra class. I’ve never danced with multiple apparatuses before and they made it so attainable for my level. I had a lot of fun trying out some new shapes and left the class eager to sign up for the next workshop!

After a 2+ year hiatus of silks, I'm so glad I signed up for Sam's classes. Sam is always willing to talk through things with me: places that need improvement, things to work on to make moves more seamless, etc. I really appreciate their laid-back teaching style and the pace of learning. I don't feel obligated to get everything taught in class, but just to give it my best shot. Learning silks can be exhausting, but Sam makes it fun and rewarding. I look forward to every class. Highly recommend signing up for one!

I’ve taken a few classes with Sam, and she is a FANTASTIC teacher. Low-key, honest, kind, and so patient with everyone. And FUN. People say things like “meets you where you’re at,” but Sam embodies this adage. Highly recommend if you are looking to explore a new hobby, activity, experience. Excited to learn more from Sam!

I love taking silks classes with Sam. I have always wanted to try silks and Sam has been amazing at teaching me from nothing in just a few classes! she’s super encouraging and kind and never makes you feel dumb when you make mistakes. definitely recommend her class to any skill level
